With the world’s poetry community increasingly connected online, are poets now global citizens who speak the same language or are local accents still paramount?

To celebrate the February 2018 issue of iconic US journal Poetry ("the oldest monthly devoted to verse in the English-speaking world"), which showcases New Zealand writing, we gather local featured poets Hera Lindsay Bird, Anahera Gildea, Bill Manhire, Courtney Sina Meredith and Anna Jackson together with international poetry guests Jeet Thayil, Patricia Lockwood, Harry Giles and Mike Ladd. They will read their work and discuss the relationship between global and local voices.

Chaired by poet and author Chris Price.
